Terms of use
Last updated: 19 September 2026
These terms apply when you use the BookBubble app or this website (together, the service). By using the service you agree to them. If you do not agree, please do not use BookBubble.
What BookBubble is
BookBubble is a reading companion. It lets you track what you are reading, organise books into shelves and collections, share reactions, and look up book details that are filtered to your reading progress so you are not shown things you have not reached yet.
Spoiler filtering is a best effort, not a guarantee. Book information comes from third-party sources and automated processing, and it can be incomplete or wrong. Use your own judgement before reading further, and do not rely on the service to protect a reading experience that matters to you.
Your account
Some features need an account. You are responsible for keeping access to your account secure and for everything that happens under it. Please tell us at support@bookbubble.app if you believe someone else is using your account.
You must be at least 16 years old to use BookBubble, and old enough to consent to data processing in your country if that age is higher. See the privacy policy for how we handle your information.
Your content
Shelves, reactions, notes, and anything else you add stay yours. You give us the permission we need to host, back up, and display that content so the service can work — for example, showing a shelf you marked as public to other readers. That permission ends when you delete the content or your account, apart from copies kept in routine backups for a limited time.
You are responsible for what you post. Only add content you have the right to share.
Acceptable use
When using BookBubble, do not:
- Post content that is unlawful, abusive, hateful, or that harasses other readers
- Upload copyrighted text, such as the contents of a book, beyond what fair use or an equivalent exception allows
- Deliberately spoil other readers, including by mislabelling progress to push spoilers past the filter
- Scrape, bulk-download, or resell data from the service, or use it to train models without our permission
- Attempt to break, overload, or gain unauthorised access to the service, or reverse engineer it except where the law allows
We may remove content or suspend accounts that break these rules or put the service or its readers at risk.
Books and third-party content
Book titles, cover images, descriptions, and related material belong to their authors, publishers, and other rights holders, and are shown for reference only. BookBubble is not affiliated with or endorsed by them. The service may also link to third-party sites we do not control.
Apple App Store
BookBubble is distributed through the App Store. Apple is not a party to these terms and is not responsible for the app or its content, but Apple and its subsidiaries may enforce these terms against you as a third-party beneficiary. Your use of the app must also follow the Apple standard licensed application end user licence agreement, which applies in addition to these terms. Support requests go to us, not to Apple — email support@bookbubble.app.
Availability and changes
BookBubble is under active development. We may add, change, or remove features, and the service may be unavailable at times for maintenance or for reasons outside our control. We will give reasonable notice before a change that materially reduces what you get, where that is practical.
Paid features
If BookBubble offers a purchase or subscription, it is billed by Apple through your App Store account, and the price, renewal, and cancellation terms shown at the time of purchase apply. You manage and cancel a subscription in your App Store account settings. Refunds are handled by Apple under its own policies.
Ending your use
You can stop using BookBubble and request account deletion at any time by emailing support@bookbubble.app. We may suspend or end access if you seriously or repeatedly break these terms, or if we have to for legal or security reasons.
Disclaimer and liability
BookBubble is provided as it is, without warranties that it will be uninterrupted, error free, or fit for a particular purpose. Nothing here limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, or for anything else that cannot be limited under the applicable law. Subject to that, we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, lost data you have not backed up elsewhere, or spoilers the service failed to hide.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the law of the operator’s place of residence. If you use BookBubble as a consumer, this does not remove the protection of mandatory consumer law in your own country of residence. Email support@bookbubble.app for the operator’s details, or see the imprint.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms as BookBubble develops. We will publish the revised version here and update the date above. Continuing to use the service after a change means you accept the updated terms.
